{{IC/OOC}} luck & logic scripts - veronica {& nemesis} dialogue

Episode 1

V: I am the bureau chief, Veronica. Nanahoshi Yukari…
Yu: Yes?
V: You are what could be called a one-in-a-million person, one who has become conscious of her Logicalist abilities.
C: Huh? Could that be a new girl?
T: Yeah, apparently so.
C: Aw, those braids are too cute! Mana-Mana, come watch with us first!
M: Nah.
C: I knew she’d say that.
V: Your abilities come into bloom without any previous warning; they suddenly appear one day. The cause is yet to be determined, but without exception, it happens during one’s adolescence, and after reaching adulthood, it gradually degrades.
Yu: Degrades? Then, Chief, you don’t have the power anymore?
V: I have just barely reached adulthood.
Yu: Eh?! Oh, I’m sorry!
N: [cracks up]
V: Nemesis!
N: Hmph!
Yu: Um, who is she?
V: She is my Covenanter.
Yu: Covenanter?
V: In any case, those who have become conscious of their abilities have a duty to maintain the peace of this area as a member of the special police agency ALCA.
Yu: Duty?
NPC: Detecting a Foreigner in Central Area. Paradox Level 7.2.
N: 7/2? Isn’t that hairy!

C: Geez, it got away.
T: Excuse me, but we lost the target.
V: Then, return once you’ve closed the Gate.

C: He was in Hong Kong two years ago?
V: Yeah. He’s the only person among the currently active Logicalists to have performed the prohibited Over Trance.
C: What’s Over Trance?
V: Speak of the devil…This is Tsurugi Yoshichika, the newest member of ALCA.
Y: Nice to see you again. I look forward to working together.
V: And this is…Tamaki.
T: I’m the team leader—
Y: Um… Would it be okay if we pick this up tomorrow?
T: Huh?
Y: The truth is, I haven’t slept since yesterday. My Logic is telling me to go to sleep.
T: Eh? You’re blowing off introductions?
V: Your room is over there.
Y: Ah, okay.
T: Unbelievable.
Y: That room is already occupied!
V: Haven’t you heard? Around here, in order to strengthen our bonds, living together with your Covenanter is mandatory.
Y: Huh?
A: I’m looking forward to staying with you, Yoshichika-san.

Episode 2

V: All right, your first trial day begins now.
C: Geez, why do we have to do this, too?
V: You’re here to review.
C: Ugh, I hate studying.
V: Nanahoshi, you remember everything I taught yesterday, right?
Yu: Uh, y-yes!
Y: Um, Chief, this isn’t all of the Logicalists that we have here, is it? What about that Olga fellow?
V: Do not speak that one’s name.
Y: Huh?
V: There are 500 questions. Whoever scores the lowest grade will be assigned supper KP.
C: No! Anything but that!
Yu: KP?
V: Nemesis…
N: Here’s your question.
A: Good luck, Yoshichika.
N: [holding a book that says “Major Prophets”] In addition to your world, Septpia, there are a number of other worlds populated by gods or dragons. Okay then, which world is it that is currently attacking Naien? A: Monolium, B: Disfia, C: Tetraheaven.
C: H-huh?
V: [sighs]
N: Everybody but blondie, correct.
C: Val, you guys are goddesses from Tetra-Heaven?
Va: You’re just now getting that?
Yu: Oh, here, here! I studied this. After the hundred-year war that happened in Tetra-Heaven ended, the archdemons, who lost, opened up doorways that connect other worlds called Gates, and came to our world in order to move here.
N: To move here?
Yu: And so, all of you goddesses are working together with ALCA, right?
At: Ah, mm-hmm. Pretty much, pretty much.
Va: To open or close a Gate, you need a Gate Card.
Yu: Gate Card?
Va: Yeah, you recover the Gate Card that the Foreigner has, which prevents them from going through Gates at will anymore. That’s our ultimate mission.
Yu: You don’t say.
M: So sincere.
Ar: Yes, almost like an ant, working hard to carry some food.
M: Was that a compliment?
Ar: Huh?
V: Cut the idle chatter. We’re moving on.
N: What is the name of the area that forms around Foreigners who appear, making it otherworldly? A: Paradox Zone, B: Paradox Area.
C: I’ve got this one!
N: Everyone but blondie, correct.
C: Huh?!
A: With what is the otherworld countermeasure agency ALCA affiliated? Everyone got it correct.
C: All right!
N: How many ALCA branches are there throughout the nation? A: 5, B: 108, C: 47. Everyone but blondie, correct.
C: No way!
N: Next up is a lucky question. What is the name of the damage incurred when you enter a Paradox Zone and get Trance Jacked? A: Paradox Sick, B: Logical disease, C: Nastybad Trauma
C: This one’s A, isn’t it?
Ve: Yes, yes!
T: Venus!
N: Everyone correct!
V: Chloe, your right answer doesn’t count. All right, that’s all.
C: No way! Huh? We’re done?
N: Score results. Blondie has the lowest score.
V: All right, that’s all for today.
N: Whew, we sure talked a lot today.
V: [amused] Heh, there are days like that.

Yu: I thought you already caught this archdemon.
N: [snickers]
Yu: What?
V: This is a virtual reality space.
Yu: Virtual reality?
N: You are so dim. That is a facility where collected Foreigner data and the city are reproduced for combat training.
Yu: Oh, yeah?
V: Tactical data provided by their Logigraphs is calculated by the tactical staff in the control room.
M: Artemis, can I give that a try?
Ar: Yes, of course.
V: The Logicalists select the most effective tactics they have among themselves, and use them to bring down the Foreigner.
Yu: Oh…
O: Just here to observe.

Yu: Chloe is a center forward, while Mana is a side back. Tamaki is a center back, and Tsurugi is like the keeper.
N: That’s an odd analogy, braidy.
Yu: Braidy? Do you mean me?
N: No matter how hard you study, without a Covenanter, it’s irrelevant.
Yu: Uh, right. I’ll work hard to find a partner to Trance with.
N: Uh, huh.
Yu: Oh, Chief, may I ask you a question?
V: What is it?
Yu: Um, a “Trance” is when a Logicalist borrows a Covenanter’s power, and a “Trance Jack” is when a Foreigner takes over a person’s body, right? So, what is an “Over Trance”?
V: You don’t need to learn that.
Yu: Huh? Why not?
O: Because it’s a forbidden move.
V: Olga…
O: All living things are comprised of 1000 Logic Cards. When each of you share half of your Logic, it’s a Trance. An Over Trance is a last-ditch move where you each completely join together all of your Logic. Once it is used, you both fall severely Paradox Sick, and your personality is destroyed.
Yu: Is that right?
V: Don’t worry. It’s all controlled by the Logigraphs. Without my permission, as the chief, you cannot Over Trance.
Yu: Oh, is that right?
O: Then again, he pulled it off.

V: One of you will be sufficient. Tsurugi, move out.
Y: Huh? Me?
V: The girls have still not completely recovered from the mental and physical drain of yesterday’s fight.
Y: But rather than me, who has just arrived here, shouldn’t he, who has more seniority…?
V: Didn’t you hear me? Tsurugi, you go.
Y: Huh? Why is he the only one who gets any special treatment?
N: He is a Logicalist, and yet not a Logicalist.
Y: Huh? What does that mean? Just what kind of secrets does he possess?

Episode 3

[V’s room. N’s books and plushies are everywhere. Her screensaver is jellyfish. V has a bottle of wine and a glass poured. She is deliberately not looking at Y.]
N: Heh-heh, how adorable.
Y: This room is really something else, huh?
V: Don’t even mention it. So, what did you want to talk about?
Y: It’s about Yurine. She’s been a Logicalist since she was 13, right?
V: Yuri left her parents and moved to Naien as part of her gifted and talented education program when she was in middle school.
Y: Huh?
V: Apparently, her dream was to become a doctor specializing in Paradox Sickness, so she could save people from it. But then one day, her gifts as a Logicalist appeared, and she was drafted into ALCA.
Y: Is that right?
V: She never offered a word of complaint. She accepted her powers, and devoted all of her efforts to saving the city. The act of saving others was the same, whether as a doctor or a Logicalist—that’s the way she must have adjusted her thinking. It’s because of that that she was chosen as the youngest leader in ALCA history. She wants to be the best, most perfect self she can be at all times, and never compromise. That’s who Yurine Tamaki is.
N: Point is, she’s a girl who’s overly conscious about appearances. A real pain in the neck.
V: Basically, as far as wishing to treat life as precious, you and her are a lot alike.
NPC: Detecting two Foreigner presences in southern Naien District, Area 03.
Y: Two of them?!
NPC: Paradox Level 4.0 and 4.2.
V: Tsurugi, move out.
Y: Yes, ma’am!

N: [reading a zombie magazine] Veronica, you really are a sadist of the dead!
[N snickers while V rests her head on her hand]
O: Putting Tsurugi and Yurine together in charge of this situation — will it work out for good or for ill?

V: Our targets are the Succubus and Incubus. We have records of them appearing before, but after a half-measured attack, they immediately fled. Chloe, Asuha, do you now see why I paired you together?
C: ‘Course. To settle the score with them as quickly as possible, right?
V: Tsurugi, Yurine, how about you?
Y: Well, more or less.
T: Let’s get to it, already.
NPC: Chief!
V: What is it?
NPC: The two Foreigners’ Paradox Level is gradually increasing!
V: What?
NPC: Their Paradox Zone is the type that absorbs Logic from humans, powering them up, is it?
V: Did you hear that? Don’t spare your mental and physical expenditure, and take them down with everything you’ve got!

V: Tsurugi, back Yurine up. Yurine, don’t hold back. Stop that Succubus dead.
T: Huh? You mean kill it?
Y: Just a moment, please!

T: Yes, but—
V: Don’t hesitate!
NPC: Danger! Paradox Level is rising rapidly!
V: Yurine!

V: What is the Foreigner’s position?
NPC: The Trance Jack appears to have been released.
O: She’s disguised her whereabouts.

V: Why did you ignore my order?
T: I am terribly sorry.
V: [sigh] Go to your room and cool down.
Y: No way. Chief, you said so yourself, didn’t you? Yurine wants to treat life as precious. So how can you give that kind of order?
V: Dreams alone can’t save people. Yurine Tamaki, you disobeyed an order, and allowed a Foreigner to get away.

NPC: Detecting Succubus in southern Naien District, Area 05.
V: Where are Chloe and Asuha?
NPC: Still unable to re-Trance.
NPC: What do we do, Chief? It’s too much for Tsurugi to handle alone.
V: Let’s go, Nemesis.
N: Yeah, I knew it.
V: Tsurugi, you’ll assist us.
Y: Right!
O: Hm-hm, this should be good. The chief herself is heading out.

V: This looks like a fun party. I think I’ll join in, too.

N: Restraint Bombs, off you go! Lalalalalaaaa~!!!

V: [looks up, smiles] Shatter. [boom]

N: She’s a tough one. What is she, a zombie?
Y: Chief! This fight is over already! No more, okay?
V: Tsurugi, I’m the chief. Are you giving me orders?

V: Silence. Harmful Foreigners have no room for leniency.

V: Yurine! Kill her!
Y: You don’t have to go that far!
V: If we don’t take care of her now, she will keep on running forever.

Y: Don’t do it, Yurine!
V: This is an order from the chief! Keep out of this and watch!

N: Ah, thus she meets her end.
V: Tsurugi, do you think that was cruel?
Y: Yes, ma’am.
V: I won’t ask you to accept it. I understand that you have your own Logic. But we do have a mission that has been entrusted to us. Don’t forget what it is.

V: Status?
NPC: We still haven’t identified it.

N: [gasp] It disappeared?

Episode 4

V: Well, Pieri?
P: It’s hopeless over there.
V: Go lend a hand on the north end.
P: Yes, ma’am!
V: Chloe!
C: Erk!
V: That isn’t a goal tape.
C: Whenever I see a tape, my legs get their own ideas.
V: Don’t go running about in public so much. The research department isn’t happy about it.
C: Any clues?
V: After showing off that serious a Paradox Zone, it didn’t leave a single trace.
C: So no leads.
V: You seem pleased by that.
C: Huh? Is that how I look?
V: It’s written all over your face.
C: I’ll be more careful!

T: Aren’t you being spoiled because the chief always covers for you? [of Chloe]

V: There’s a good chance she came in contact with the 9.8.
NPC: Subject’s current location pinpointed. Pulling up real-time image.
C: Hey there, I’ll have a double.
Waitress: Okay.
T: Chloe!
Ve: Oh, my. Is Chloe in out-of-control mode again?
T: And after the warning I gave her, too!

NPC: Paradox Zone developing in southern Naien district, Area 12, in Green Park.
C: Not the 9.8?!
NPC: No, its level is 4.0.
C: Ehh…
V: Chloe, how soon can you be there?
C: Five minutes. You’d best break out an umbrella.
V: Valkyrie will rendezvous with you at the location.
C: Copy. That 4.0 won’t get any mercy, either. Thanks for the drink!

Y: Has the Green Park Foreigner moved?
V: It’s not that; there are two Foreigners.
NPC: Yet another one has appeared. Level 2.0!
V: Tsurugi, the Foreigners are concentrated around Area 07.
Y: Chloe, let’s meet up in Area 07.

V: Chloe, go and back Tsurugi up!

J: How is Yoshichika-chan doing?
V: Luckily, it’s not serious. Once he gets a little rest, he’ll be able to Trance again.
J: He is an important part of our force, after all. Be sure to use him wisely. If Tetra-Heaven’s big star is here, it would be common courtesy to send our ace against him in tip-top shape.
V: As you wish.
J: It looks like the rain is letting up.

V: Stand down until he is able to re-Trance.

V: How is the evacuation of the danger area going?
NPC: They’re going as fast as they can, but they’re still not done.

NPC: Transporter Beta has gone off-course!
V: They’re running an audible. Let them have it.

C: I’m not some fighting machine who only acts when ordered to! [V tiny smile]

V: Tough it out, Tsurugi, Athena.

NPC: Civilian evacuation is complete.
V: Did you hear that, Tsurugi?

V: These Foreigners are unique. The more they are defeated, the higher their individual Paradox Levels rise.
C: Today’s Foreigners are strange, all right. There was no sign of the people who were Trance Jacked.
T: You mean…
N: They’re all just puppets, huh? Hee!

N: So, it all turned out fine?
V: Yeah.

Episode 5

Y: What does the chief do about it?
A: She turns a blind eye to it, just for her.
Ve: That’s something lovely about Veronica, isn’t it?

V: A flying Foreigner, is it?

V: Yurine, Chloe, fall back!

NPC: Chief, apparently that Paradox Zone emits a specific venom that severely consumes an intruder’s mental and physical strength.
V: Poison?
O: Looks like you can endure it for about five seconds, at most.
Yu: You can’t even make it in front of the goal in that short a time!
V: That rules out close combat. Which means we have to rely on…
M: Roger. Sneak Walk!

V: Tsurugi, stand down for now!

N: Heh, this is the perfect night to do some tests of courage, huh?
NPC: I see. Understood. Sure enough, the effects of that Foreigner’s Paradox Zone have rendered the power station completely inoperable.
NPC: We’re also receiving reports from affected hospitals across Naien. Unless power is restored soon, emergency power at hospitals in all districts will be used up, and it will severely affect many patients.
V: What’s the estimate?
NPC: Sometime tomorrow at best.
V: Director!
J: I’ve requested assistance from all divisions nationwide, but it will take some time for them to arrive. I’d like to expand our image here somehow.
O: I can hear my Logic. As long as we can’t get near that Foreigner, the probability of us overcoming this situation is zero percent.

NPC: Chief!
V: What is it?
NPC: There’s a report that Asuha Mana and Artemis are heading to the site!
V: Asuha, I don’t recall ordering you to mobilize.
M: Moon Walk! Chief, permission to Over Trance?

M: Chief, your permission, quickly.
J: You are the field commander. I will take full responsibility.
V: Asuha, your Over Trance is approved.
T: Chief! Hold on! This is impossible!
N: The chief’s orders are absolute. If she is swayed by her personal feelings, she won’t be able to protect anything. Am I wrong, four-eyes and blondie?

Y: There is another way! Asuha can fire at point-blank range.
V: What are you talking about? It’s impossible to get that close!
Y: I will buy enough time with my shield. If one of us will definitely become a casualty anyway, then I’ll put my money on both of us surviving, or both of us becoming casualties.

[V and N share a look when Y convinces M not to Over Trance.]

J: Veronica, your decision was not wrong. But they had an even greater power within them. You have some fine subordinates there.
N: Aww, we didn’t get to see her Over Trance. [winks]
V: [smiles]

Episode 6

V: Olga, Nanahoshi, report to the training room.

V: I want the two of you to get the knack of Trancing together.

Yu: I see. You think about what your partner is feeling, huh?
V: That goes for Athena and Tsurugi, though.
Yu: Chief Veronica…
V: What about Chloe and Valkyrie? What about Yurine and Asuha?
Yu: Right. Chloe and Valkyrie are looking at different things. That’s why they’re able to complement each other, you might say.
V: [nods] Well spotted.
A: It differs depending on the people, doesn’t it?
V: That is correct. Nanahoshi, you have to find what works best for you.
Yu: What works best for me, you say?
O: You don’t need a way that works! After a session or two with me and my overflowing talent…
V: If only you had any.
Yu: Olga really is amazing.
A, V: Huh?
Yu: I respect someone who has such a well-defined image of their future self. The same was the same of the ace players I encountered when I was a manager. They carried such huge dreams, and had no doubts.
O: I see that you can understand my reasoning somewhat. You show some progress, Nanahoshi.
[V scratches her cheek and sweatdrops while he’s talking]
Yu: Thank you very much. I hope you are right about that.

V: You can see the situation for yourselves.
Y: What do we do?
V: No choice but to take him down [is there]. Clau, Pieri, evacuate all the general employees.
Cl, P: Yes.
V: Chloe and Yurine are looking in on Asuha. The four of us will have to settle this quickly.
O: Hey, now, don’t forget about me.
V: [sighs] The five of us will have to settle this.

V: The problem is that Nanahoshi is being held prisoner.
Y: Right. Let’s negotiate this with care.
N: Too soft.
Y: Huh?
V: She’s right. All he has to do is extend his Paradox Zone, and this branch will fall.
N: Then he can release as many other Foreigners as he likes.
A: Yoshichika…
V: We blast the floor and collapse it, dropping both of them down.
Y: But what happens to Nanahoshi if we do that?!
V: That’s your job.
Y: My job?
V: [getting up and walking past Y] You’re going to save Nanahoshi’s life. Understood?
Y: Yes, ma’am.
O: And what about me?
V: I have an important mission for you, too.
O: Oho…
V: I’m going to let you feed instructions to Nanahoshi.
O: Hmph, not a bad decision. [starts walking to V’s chair]
V: Wait. Not from there.
O: Huh?

V: Hurry! There’s no time!
N: We could just blow the ceiling away.
V: If blowing it away were all we were doing, yes. We don’t want to bury them alive, right?
N: [crosses arms, disgruntled sound]
NPC: Two minutes until we’re ready.

V: No! Get out of there, Olga!

V: [taking off hat, flipping it over in her hands to expose the inside] This is now…over.
Yu: No! It’s not over yet! I haven’t done anything! We’re still in stoppage time!
V: [very large bomb]
Yu: Quetzalcoatl, look out!
V: Nanahoshi!
Yu: Ma’am, pass!

V: Rescue team, hurry! Nanahoshi! [props up Yu]
Yu: Never mind me, see to Kitaoka.
V: Yeah, he’s fine.

V: Tsurugi, what do you think about those two?
Y: It’s like pairing the accelerator with the brake pedal. I think they could make a fine combo.
V: Do you think we can trust him?
Y: I’m still not sure about that, but they do get along, so they may be all right.
V: Yeah, I think so, too.

Episode 7

V: Is something wrong, Tsurugi?

N: Veronica and I were at the bar, having a drink, when he called us over.
V: Tsurugi, congratulations. I understand it’s your birthday today.
Y: Uh, actually, it isn’t.
N: Huh?
Y’s Dad: Wow, I didn’t realize that Shiori had the same idea. She’s a Tsurugi, all right.
N: What do you mean?

N: Tell me, Rentaro, what kind of work do you do?
Y’s Dad: Huh? Big work.
[V is watching amusedly]
N: Eh? What? What? You’ve got me curious!
[ Wine bottle label reads “Chablis Grand… Bougros…”]
Va: That’s surprising. Imagine, Nemesis talking to someone like that.
C: She must be stuck on him somehow.

[V is not eating much. Salad and a little bit of some of the meat. N has a sandwich, fried chicken, and juice]

Y: Um, excuse me, but have you seen Athena?
V: Hm?
Y: She doesn’t seem to be around anywhere.
V: She went on a shopping run.
Y: Huh? By herself?

Y: Chief, please don’t concern yourself with him. He always does this, so just leave him here.
S: Everyone, what are you all doing after this?
V: I’m going to go out drinking a little while longer. Tonight is the only time I have to spread my wings.
N: Huh?! I don’t want to leave!
V: Can I leave her here with you?
Y: Oh, yes. We’ll be fine here.
V: Shall we go, Venus?
Ve: Mm-hmm.
T: Huh? Venus, you’re going, too?
Ve: It’s grown-up time now.

N: Say, Shiori, do you have a computer?
S: A computer?
N: There’s something I’d like to see.
S: Mm-hmm, there’s one in my room. Come on, come on!

S: Whoa! It’s uncensored! You can see the zombies clearly! Aren’t you scared?!
N: [from very, very close to the screen, enraptured] Scared? Of what?
S: Well…I’m sure my mom would think so, too.
N: Such a child.
S: That’s not true!
N: Yes it is. How many zeroes do you think there are in the difference between our ages?
S: Oh, right. You are a goddess, huh?

[A room in a 13th basement floor. “Ashe Paxton” is the namecard]
As: Who are you?
N: You don’t remember?
V: Nemesis!
N: Do you have any idea how many times Veronica has come to see you?!
V: Stop! Nice to meet you. I am your former subordinate, Veronica Ananko.

Episode 8

NPC: The Sapporo precinct has had multiple, simultaneous Foreigner incursions.
V: The ice belva?
N: Oh, my. He moved?

[Veronica’s letter of resignation has a doodle of Nemesis on it, as well as both their names. The doodle is in the same pen thickness as Veronica’s name.]

J: It seems so quaint. What are we to do about that? There is an ALCA lab in Hakodate, you see. Four years ago, Ash Paxton, who was Veronica’s trainer at the time, was Trance Jacked by a Monolium Foreigner, an ice belva, and had his personality destroyed. The ACLA senior officers at the time had Ash, who was suffering from severe Paradox Sickness, quarantined deep underground beneath Central Hospital. To keep the incident quiet, you understand.
Y: Director…
J: As a branch chief, about all I could do was to bring the heartbroken Veronica to this branch. Three days afterward, a team from headquarters started conducting an investigation. Just as they did, the gravely ill Ash Paxton was moved to the lab, and immediately following, the ice belva, which was under tight containment, started running wild. Don’t you find that odd? See to Veronica.

N: The belva is formidable.
V: I know.
NPC: Guiding you to the Hakodate Lab heliport.
V: Belva!

NPC: Veronica! Why are you here?
N: Sapporo is in big trouble.
NPC: You must be her Covenanter. It must be tough, having such a difficult partner, huh?
N: That’s what makes it so fun.
V: Where is Instructor Ash? Why did you relocate him, in his condition?!
NPC: Th-the heliport. On the monitor.
NPC: Yes, sir.
V: Instructor Ash?!
NPC: W-we finally found Ash’s Logic Cards.

V: I’m going to need your help, Nemesis.
N: That’s fine, but I wish this was someplace a little warmer.
V: Things will heat up soon enough.
N: Yeah, I suppose.
V,N: Trance!

[Somehow V has managed to drive a snowmobile up a tower and planted bombs on one of the beams.]
V: Do you remember me, ice belva? Instructor Ash was my teacher, and gave me brother-like moral support. You took something from me even more precious than my life!
N: Raging fury! Disgruntled Bombs!
V: I’m going to annihilate you so that there’s nothing left!

V: Instructor Ash…Belva, I will kill you! Nemesis!
N: Madness! Intimidation! Hysteric Bombs!

V: Oh, no! Damn it! Nemesis, we’re hitting him with everything we have! Let’s go!
N: We’re exterminating you! Jealousy! Trepidation! And refreshment at no extra charge!
V: Take this!
N: All-Star Bombs!
V: Nemesis! More! Tsurugi?!
Y: You can’t do this, Chief! Please stop!
V: Do not get in my way, Tsurugi! That thing destroyed Instructor Ash!
Y: No! The belva is the victim! It was Instructor Ash and the lab’s chief, Orlov, who destroyed the belva’s mind!
V: Don’t feed me that pack of lies!
Y: Can you watch this and still not believe me?!
As: If humans…can control…an Over Trance…
V: W-What is this?! I-It’s not true!
Y: Chief!
V: Ash! Instructor!

V: Thank goodness.
Y: No, don’t, Chief! Orlov and Ash were experimenting with an artificial Over Trance! It’s the belva who was the casualty of that! Chief!
N: Yoshichika! That’s enough. Let’s finish this, Veronica.
V: When I was so isolated, Instructor Ash brought me up and never abandoned me.
As [flashback]: Veronica, together, we’re going to bring an end to this otherworldly war.
V: Instructor Ash gave me hope. He told me we were going to save the world together. He told me so! And this thing….!
Y: Chief! Please stop!
N: Veronica!
V: Damn it! The victim? You?
Y: Chief:
Yu: Sir!
Y: Nanahoshi!
Yu: I’m sorry I took so long.
V: Instructor Ash…I….
Y: Chief!
V: Stay back, Tsurugi!
Y: I made a promise!
V: Stop!
Y: That I…would protect you!

J: Hey. I knew you’d be back.
V: Director…But I…
J: You won’t be needing this anymore, right? [tears up letter]
V: Director, I committed a breach of discipline. I can’t return to ALCA.
J: A breach of discipline? Where is the breach of discipline in going to back up the Sapporo branch?
V: I nearly killed an innocent Foreigner!
J: The belva will be going back to the world he came from. You aren’t guilty of…
V: I will rewrite and submit my letter of resignation.
NPC (Zera?): Chief! Sorry to bother you when you must be fatigued, but we’re holding an evaluation session, so please attend.
C: I ate so much pizza, and under my clothes, I’m a mess! I’m pooching out all over! I need to be more self-aware as a Logicalist!
Va: She’s disgraced to death.
T: I write awfully long letters to my sister in Kyoto every day, and as a result, the Naien postal workers can’t take any time off.
Ve: Letters are best written by hand.
M: Um…I…snuck out in the middle of the night…and ate…ramen.
C: Chief! A letter of apology, KP, bathroom cleaning—I’ll do anything!
Yu: Me too! I’m, uh…sorry for something!
V: Guys…
J: Still sure you won’t come back?
V: Director…
J: Mm-hmm.
C: See you later!
V: Tsurugi. Thank—
C: I’ll take KP duty. We’ll have pizza every day!
Va: Please don’t.
C: Why? What’s wrong with pizza? It’s delicious.
V: [cracks up, then composes herself] Yurine, Asuha, and Nanahoshi, you’re on KP. Chloe, you’re cleaning bathrooms for a week.
C: Aw, man!
M, T: Yes, ma’am.
V: The two young men will clean the chief’s office.
Y, O: Huh?!
Y: Th-that room?
O: I can hear my Logic. It says “victim of circumstance”.
Y: Aw, gee…
Z: A man shouldn’t sweat the small stuff.
Y: Z-zera…
Z: Now, tell me all about Sapporo, Tsurugi!
Ar: Birds—birds soaring through the sky…
Y: Artemis?
Ar: Take the pain of my heart away with you. Your dreams, our wishes—take them all upon your wings.
Y: It’ll be fine. The chief has us with her.
N: I am a zombie? You are a clown? They may not have wings, but they are unyielding, tough-skinned, never-give-up, immortal buddies and terrific children.
V: Yeah. That’s true.

Episode 9

T: I heard the chief locked up the real one. The whole area around them was left scorched earth, though.

J: At last we meet again. Cleaning up after Orlov and the others got dragged out. Make yourselves comfortable. Ah, here. I brought you a present.
N: Yay!
V: Thank you very much.
J: Are Yoshichika and the others doing well?
V: They’re all improving their skills.
J: That’s good to hear. Especially after that incident. I was concerned that they had become disgusted by us grubby adults.
N: How adorable! [Starts to eat her eye-shaped dango, is interrupted by an alarm]
V: What is it?
Z: It’s the reception desk. We have a Foreigner visitor.
V: Visitor? Not an intruder?
Z: He says his name is Lucifer and he’d like to see the person in charge.
V: All right. Show him into the reception room. I’ll meet with him.
J: No…

V: Pieri, status report.
P: The evacuation is complete; only minimal personnel remain.
V: All right.

V: Olga!
J: I am not trying to stop you, you understand. I welcome you entering into a Covenant.
O: So then…
J: But I wish you would be more cautious. After all, this is the fallen angel Lucifer we’re talking about.
O: Very well.

V: The Foreigner who escaped is Enlil. He’s a handful.
Y: Who was it that he captured?
V: The Foreigner’s location and Olga’s Logigraph readings overlap.

V: That’s right. Focus. What is your mission?
C: To clobber that Foreigner good and hard, right?
Y: To restrain the Foreigner.
V: If we’re clear on that, then get going.

C: Mr. Hard-Working is no longer a Logicalist?
V: No. His life is in no danger, but he lost his Logic Card.
Yu: Oh, no.
Y: We should retrieve it right away.
V: I have people out looking for it now, but they haven’t found it yet.
T: How did this happen?
V: That is under investigation, as well, but apparently, Enlil’s escape was an inside job.
T: Inside?
C: You think that Mr. Hard-Worker really was overly conscious?
T: If possible, I’d like to ask that you go easy on him.
Y: We still aren’t sure that he’s the one who let him escape, right?
T: Then, who did?
J: The timing is awfully suspicious, isn’t it? I mean, Lucifer waiting until I’m here to come around.
T: Are you saying that someone told him that you were here, Director?
Y: Which would mean that there’s a mole in ALCA.
V: We’ll know the whole truth about the matter in time. Don’t make any assumptions yet.
All: Yes, ma’am.
V: As for Olga, I promise, as your superior, I won’t order any rash punishments. Meeting adjourned. All of you, help out with the search for that card.
All: Yes, ma’am.

Episode 10

V: Status?
NPC: We have detected the Logigraph’s location data, but there is no response.
Z: Either the Logigraph has been destroyed, or else, communications have been cut off.
NPC: Shut off? What do you mean?

V: You say that Olga was with Lucifer?
Yu: He may be have taken prisoner.
N: [swinging her legs, smug] Hm.
NPC: Chief! We have identified the culprit that opened the lock on the basement cell.
Z: Was it Olga?
NPC: Well, as far as the analysis logs show, it came from the receptionist’s terminal.
Z: As I recall, the receptionist on duty the day of the incident was that new employee, Miki Shinobu.
NPC: Why would she do that?
Y: So then it wasn’t Olga.
C: All right, now that we know that, let’s storm into the enemy camp and get Mr. Hard-Worker back!
V: Hold up! Lucifer is a powerful enemy, with a Paradox Level of 9.8. Until we know what his objective is, we’d best not provoke him carelessly.
N: Hm, hm. [nodding]
T: A head-on confrontation is definitely too dangerous.
Y: If there was a way to just rescue Olga somehow…

[N is cooperating with the other goddesses as they press Q for information.]
N: Well, some might say that he chose this world to live out his exile.

Va: Lucifer could have put Shinobu up to it.
N: That sounds like something he’d do.

N: From his viewpoint, Lucifer was a heaven-sent Covenanter, huh?

N: Self-esteem, the need for approval, self-justification. The weakest, most fragile Logic that humans have.

NPC: New reading in Naien, central area!
V: What’s the Paradox Level?
NPC: The thing is, it’s not coming from a Foreigner.
Z: What do you mean?
NPC: It’s a Logicalist.

Z: This is bad. Has he been brainwashed by Lucifer?
N: He might be lucky that he wasn’t outright Trance Jacked.
Y: Chief, please let me go. I’ll try to convince Olga to return without hurting him.
At: I’ll go, too.
Y: No, please let me go alone.
At: Huh?
Y: If it looks like we’re looking for a fight, we might provoke him.
V: Very well. Athena, stand by in his vicinity, in case anything happens.
At: Understood.
V: Asuha, there’s something I want you to do for me.

V: A Logic Card?
M: The people they are being provided to are Paradox Sickness patients.
V: You don’t mean that Lucifer’s objective is…
M: They all want to be Trance Jacked. They get to discard the Logic Cards that they don’t want, and in return, they can receive more ideal Logic Cards.
V: In other words, deliberate Logic Card transplantation.
T: No way!
C: That’s unbelievable.
Y: Logic Card transplantation?
V: Yeah. I’m not sure what he’s after, though.

[V has surrounded O with bombs without his realizing]
V: Are you ready for this, Olga? [raises cane]

N: Not bad.

Episode 11

N: It’s only a matter of time before all of Naien is under their control.

V: Director!
J: As of this moment, I’m taking charge of the command center. Move out, Veronica.
V: Yes, sir. Let’s go, Nemesis.
N: Okay.

J: Everything depends on your actions.
Y, C, M, T, V, Yu: Yes, sir!

V: Trance!

V: Tsurugi, we’ll be there to assist you soon. Tough it out for just a little bit.
En: Veronica, I’m going to get back at you.
V: You never learn, do you? I guess you must be…a masochist.

N: Raging fury! Disgruntled Bombs! Rararrararara!!

En: Ha-ha-ha! You can’t get through my wind barrier!
N: The wind really is overwhelming.
En: A single Logicalist is simply too weak.
V: Heh, if I can’t break through, I’ll just have to lure you in.
En: Why, you…!
J: Show me the results of your training.
Y, C, M, T, V, Yu: Logic Drive!
V: Gaia Explosion!

V: The others are out of the way. However…

V: We are the only ones left now.
Y: It’ll be enough. Olga, I couldn’t allow you to go to the other Foreigners’ aid.
O: Hmmm…You were just buying time, were you? So? For all your trickery, that Gate won’t close unless you defeat me.
V: We have data on you. It’s not going to go like before.

N: Madness! Intimidation! Hysteric Bombs! Badadadadadaaaa!

Y: Chief, get back, please!
V: Tsurugi!

N: We’re getting nowhere like this.
Y: No, I’ve uncovered his weakness. Olga can only use his spear to do one thing at a time — either attack or defend.
V: I get it. In other words, we watch for the moment he attacks.
Y: I’ll get him to attack me.
V: All right.

N: Now!

V, N: Logic Drive! Star Mine Insanity!

Yu: Chief!
V: Oh, right. I was…
N: How are Yoshichika and Athena?
Va: They’re safe, thanks to the two of you.
N: Oh, okay.
Ve: No, you have to stay in bed!
V: I…can’t do that.

V: Director, you don’t mean…

V: That is indeed forbidden Logic.

[When O’s Over Trance activates and the Paradox Zone spreads, V shields N with her whole body.]

Episode 12

V: Tsurugi!

N: Hmm.
[V salutes when she goes to leave instead of speaking]

V: Olga!

N: Veronica!
Y: Chief!

N: We recovered most of the Logic Cards that got away from you two, and your recovery is nearly complete. Thanks to help from ALCA branches around the world.

N: I’ve never heard of a goddess becoming a human’s parent before.
V: Nemesis, are you going back?
N: Of course. I have no business on Septpia anymore. It’s just that there are no zombies in Tetra-Heaven…
V: Then you’re welcome to stay.
N: Are you sure?!
V: Of course.
